Artist's Inspiration

This photo was taken in a retail parking lot that had recently received a fresh coat of tar. After a brief afternoon rain shower, it had a sheen of thin water across it. I was taking shots of some great reflections when my wife pointed out this wonderful oil slick and how interesting it looked. So, I went over and took a few shots to capture its rainbow of colors. The framing appears to be a scene from outer space, but what looks like stars are in reality rocks in the asphalt.
