Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival

The Art in the Heart of Augusta Festival took place on September 15, 16, and 17 in the heart of downtown Augusta, Georgia. This year the festival was bigger and better than ever with an additional city block added!

The Festival encompassed the Augusta Common and the 600, 700, 800, and 900 Blocks of Broad Street. We had over 100 juried Arts in the Heart Artists. Five Stages of non-stop entertainment included the Global Stage on the Augusta Common with cultural music and dance along with popular music into the evening. A Jazz Stage offered Jazz, Blues, and Roots performances, while the NEW Soul Suite Stage was indoors and featured poetry, storytelling, acoustic music, Soul, spoken word, and improv.

The popular Family Stage returned on the 600 Block with performances that appealed to children and families. And of course, our dynamic Community Stage was back featuring Augusta’s local talent. International food booths were available on the Augusta Common and long lines showed their popularity. Our popular Family Area, Young Artists Markets, and Artzilla – live painting by local artists returned as well.

This festival is produced each year by the Greater Augusta Arts Council. The Festival is a rain-or-shine event.

Handicap access restrooms are noted on the Festival map. Scooter and Wheelchair ramps over powerlines and hoses. The parking deck at 9th and Reynolds has handicap parking on all levels next to the elevator and is near the Reynolds Street ticket gate. A sign language interpreter will be at Opening Ceremonies on Friday night at the Global Stage.
